DICOM Import

Overview

Imports a DICOM image series from a folder and converts the slices into a three-dimensional IDCubePro dataset.

IDCubePro recursively scans the selected folder and attempts to read Slices are ordered using the best available information:

RescaleSlope and RescaleIntercept are applied when they are present Rows x Columns x DICOM Slices The third dimension represents slice number, not wavelength.

IDCubePro therefore uses slice indices 1:N as the axis.

Workflow

1. Choose Import DICOM Series.

2. Select the folder containing the DICOM study or series.

3. Allow IDCubePro to scan and order the slices.

4. Inspect slice count and orientation.

5. Treat the third axis as slice index.

The importer constructs an image stack. It does not convert DICOM slice index into an optical spectral wavelength axis.
