HDF5 Import

Imports numeric image or hyperspectral data stored inside an HDF5 IDCubePro recursively scans the HDF5 structure and selects the most likely numeric image or datacube dataset.

Overview

Imports numeric image or hyperspectral data stored inside an HDF5 IDCubePro recursively scans the HDF5 structure and selects the most likely numeric image or datacube dataset.

Preference is given to larger numeric datasets with three or more dimensions.

IDCubePro searches for a compatible wavelength or spectral-axis dataset.

When a valid spectral axis is detected, the corresponding dimension is moved to dimension 3 and the spectral axis is sorted together with the bands.

If no valid spectral axis is found, IDCubePro preserves the image geometry as safely as possible and uses band indices 1:N.

Datasets with more than three dimensions may be flattened to produce a rows x columns x bands representation.

Important

HDF5 is a general container format. Dataset names, dimensions, and axis organization vary between instruments and vendors.

Workflow

1. Choose Import H5 / HDF5 Dataset.

2. IDCubePro scans the internal datasets.

3. Review the selected image dataset and detected spectral axis.

4. Verify orientation and wavelength interpretation after import.
