Team Workflow

A team lets up to five people share one Team subscription, 1.25 TB of cloud storage, and a shared file library. Every active member of a paid team receives all Professional features in their own workspace, even without an individual subscription. You can belong to several teams at once, with a different role in each.

Step-by-Step Workflow

1

Owner: Subscribe to the Team plan from Plans. The team is created automatically when checkout completes. If it is not created automatically, select Create Team on the Team page.

2

Owner or Admin: Open Team → Members, enter a colleague’s email address, select Member or Admin, and click Invite.

3

Invitee: Open the link in the invitation email and sign in or create an account. The invitation is accepted automatically.

4

Anyone on the team: Open Shared Files → Upload to Team to share a dataset. Click the open icon on a shared file to load it into your workspace.

5

Move data in or out: In Cloud Files, drag your own files or folders onto a team under Shared to copy them to the team. Drag a team file onto My Files, or one of your folders, to copy it into your own storage. Both directions create a copy; the original remains in place.

6

Owner: Change roles using the menu next to each member, or select Make owner to transfer the team. Owners and Admins can remove eligible members using the remove icon.

7

Working in several teams? Select a team from the menu at the top of the Team page. In Cloud Files, every team appears under Shared in the sidebar.

8

Members and Admins can select Leave team at the bottom of the Members tab. The Owner can delete the team from the same area.

Roles

Role Permissions
Owner The Owner’s Team plan pays for the team. The Owner can do everything an Admin can do, change roles, transfer ownership, and delete the team. The Owner cannot be removed and must transfer ownership before leaving. Each team has one Owner, and an account can own one team.
Admin Invite members, remove Members, and delete shared files. An Admin cannot remove another Admin or the Owner.
Member Use every Professional feature, upload shared files, open shared files, copy files, and leave the team.

Seats, Storage & Files

Item Details
Seats Five seats per team. Pending invitations count toward the limit. Extra seats cost $49 per month each and add 250 GB of storage. Contact support@hspeq.com.
Team storage 1.25 TB shared. The storage bar turns amber above 70% and red above 90%. Uploads that would exceed the available storage are refused.
Shared files Visible to the entire team. Upload .mat, .tif, .tiff, .hdr, .dat, or .img files one at a time. Only Owners and Admins can delete them.
Copying files Any member can drag files between personal Cloud Files and a team. Copies are independent, so later changes to one copy do not change the other. ENVI .hdr/.dat pairs travel together. Teams do not contain folders, so a folder copied to a team arrives as a flat set of files.
Private files Files in personal Cloud Files remain private and count against the user’s own plan storage. Only files shared with a team count against the team’s 1.25 TB.

Tips

  • Make a lab manager an Admin so invitations and file cleanup do not depend entirely on the Owner.
  • Drag a team file to My Files before modifying it when you want to preserve the team’s original copy.
  • Select several files and drag any selected file to copy the entire selection together.
  • Use descriptive shared-data names, such as 2026-06_fieldA_Sentinel2.tif. The shared-files list displays only the filename, size, and date.
  • Team billing, payment methods, and invoices are available on the Owner’s Account page.

Known Limitations

Review these conditions before transferring ownership, copying large datasets, or deleting a team.
  • Roles are team-specific. Being an Owner in one team does not provide additional permissions in another team.
  • Every copy counts against the storage of its destination. Copying into a team uses team storage; copying into My Files uses personal storage. The operation is refused when the destination is full.
  • Copying files into a team requires an active Team plan. When the plan has lapsed, existing files can still be viewed, but new files cannot be added.
  • Transferring ownership moves billing responsibility to the new Owner. If the new Owner has no Team plan, the team becomes inactive until they subscribe.
  • Deleting a team permanently removes every shared file. Deleting the team does not cancel the Owner’s subscription.
  • A pending invitation link can be used by whoever opens it. Send invitation links only to their intended recipients.
  • When the Owner’s Team plan ends because of cancellation or a failed payment, members lose Team features at the end of the billing period. The team and shared files are retained and remain accessible, but invitations and uploads pause until the plan is renewed.
