Invert Colors

Inverts image intensity values using MATLAB imcomplement.

Overview

Inverts image intensity values using MATLAB imcomplement.

Bright values become dark and dark values become bright according to the numeric range of the working data.

  • An inverted intensity display makes structures easier to inspect.
  • Comparing positive and negative visual contrast.
  • Preparing an alternative visualization of the current cube.

Important

Invert Colors modifies the current working cube in memory.

It is not merely a display-colormap change.

Interpretation depends on the numeric range and datatype of the input data.

Use caution when working with data that are not already on a conventional

Workflow

1. Load a hyperspectral dataset.

2. Inspect the inverted result.

3. Use Reset Filters to restore the original working data if required.
