NIfTI Import

Overview

Imports NIfTI medical or scientific image data into IDCubePro.

2D data are imported as a one-plane dataset.

3D data are imported directly as rows x columns x slices.

For 4D or higher-dimensional NIfTI data, dimensions 3:N are flattened into the third IDCube dimension.

IDCubePro assigns slice/volume indices 1:N to the third dimension.

Important

The third IDCube dimension represents slice or volume sequence, not wavelength.

NIfTI metadata are preserved using niftiinfo when available and exported to a readable metadata file.

Workflow

1. Choose Import NIfTI Dataset.

2. Select the .nii or .nii.gz file.

3. IDCubePro reads image data and metadata.

4. Inspect original dimensionality and whether higher dimensions were flattened.
